Does anyone know where I could find one of these in the Washington DC area? I had on of these when I was a very young kid in Australia, and would love to have one again.

where have you been. most companys, or private breeders like here on AC use all sorts of devices to ensure that any animal being shipped arrives safe and happy
I'm new to all of this and I've never heard of shipping living creatures before..
tons of people on this site do it. people post feedback threads in the general chit chat forum if they ship live animals on a regular basis
One of my best friends owns a fish store--her stock is shipped in from pretty much everywhere. Also my mom's puppy was shipped across country when he was 10 weeks old...he was perfectly fine. Also "Big Box" stores have fish and reptiles shipped via Fed-Ex, USPS, and air transports (including but not limited to Delta Air Lines.)
