I will go broke trying to use enough Flourish Potassium to keep my levels at 20 ppm. What is the cheap "generic form" of Potassium Sulfate, and where can I buy it?

You can order Potassium Sulfate (K2SO4) in pure form from www.litemanu.com. It's listed under Plant Nutrients, then Chemicals. It comes in 1lb bags, you might want to order an extra bag depending on how frequently you intend to use it. I haven't ordered from this place, however it seems to be trusted and recommended.

If you don't mind dosing Potassium Chloride instead you could just go down to the grocery store and buy some Nu-Salt for a buck or two. Its a common DIY fert solution and a favorite of the WetMan.

I'll have to wait until my algae war ends before I could say if anything I'm using it works well :( .

Others seem happy with it…

Or, for potassium chloride, get a big bag of it used for water conditioning (there's regular salt bags, but others are potassium chloride). Only trouble is it's in tablets (smashing them is good for taking out aggression). I only have 2 little aquariums. My 44 lb bag ($8 Canadian) will last me forever. It is my son's inheritance.

I’ve been trying to find that same thing for a while. Garden Centers don’t have All Green and my hardware stores don’t have muriate of potash (refer to links below). Not as easy as I thought it was going to be saving a couple of bucks.

I’m going to give NuSalt a shot as well. Hopefully we can find it.

Anyways, I’ve been using these links as a resource. Maybe you’ll have better luck in your area. Good luck.
