I've alot of people say that tahitian moon sand is inert, that it's made out of glass, etc.. all I know is that it was more of a pain than it's worth. I've been through 2 bags of caribsea tahitian moon sand and both bags were so iron rich that the sand itself was magnetic. Don't plan on using a mag-float cleaner on your aquarium if you use tahitian moon sand, I scratched the heck out of my glass tanks because the moon sand was sticking to the inside part of the mag-float.
