Where do you have you power strip

I mounted electrical outlets in my cabinet.
Then I ran Romex down to the basement, and attached it to its own breaker.
So my tank has its own 20Amp circuit..
(there is an outlet strip hangin by the plugs behind the tank though! Shhh!! dont tell anyone ok?)

Screw mounted to the inside leg of the tank stand. Kinda like one of those sexy little Bond girls with a pistol strapped to the inner thigh... Kinda sorta. But minus the screws...

I have mine on the top side of the inside of my stand. I use industrial strength velcro to mount mine.
At my parents' house the two power strips are perched high up nearly on the ceiling.
Here, one is on the floor almost behind a chair. Probably could put this one in a better place, sometimes the chair hits the switch and turns it off.
The other one is sitting up next to my printer on a shelf. I had it sitting next to the lower tank and decided it would be safer on the shelf.
You should probably not place them where they'd be prone to having water splashed on them.
