Where do you put your powerheads in your tank system? Location? How powerful? I just need some help with where to put mine. I have 2 maxijet 1200s on both sides of my 55G tank. They are both just sending water right to the middle of the tank. Any suggestions on where I should located my powerheads? I also have a frogspawn coral, and some mushroom coral in the tank too. Thanks

It depends on where your rock is, where your corals are. Basically you're trying to avoid deadspots and whirlpools. Having them directed towards each other will help with the whirlpool. I'd not put the either the mushrooms or the frogspawn directly in a MJ1200 path.

Just try to intersect them and make it so there is a decent flow where you want it.

I have mine in the top of the back, in the corners, with the nozzles pointing directly at the middle of the tank. Seems to work good, but as said, depends on the placement of all your other stuff.

When I had my 60 (US)Gal tank I had one maxijet 1200 positioned at the back pointing towards the front where it bounced off the front and spread the current quite nicely. I also had a smaller one at the back near the bottom going length ways to avoid any dead spots there. Maybe try try one in each corner pointing towards the front and see how you get on.

i have two powerheads on the back corners of my tank. I have my protein skimmer output and HOB filter waterfall inwards towards the middle. Full current throughout the tank.

As long as there is decent flow you really can't be wrong!
