??Where does ICH stem from??

It seems i've been fighting this forever. I have a 110 gallon tank stocked with SA cichlids, the tank is stocked but certainly not overstocked. I vacume the gravel every 2 weeks with a 30% water change on the week when i'm not vacuming the gravel.

i have 2 fluval 404 filters tuning over 350 gallon each every hour.

i get large ich spots about the size of a BB pellet on my fish now every month or so... i assume this is ich if not it's somekind of fungus. i catch it and treat it and most of the time it's ok.

Ich is small--looks like the fish was dipped in salt. This sounds like something different--either a bacterial infection, or something else. Tell us more--what type of cichlids, water parameters, etc.

I know what ich looks like and agree that what I'm describing make seem different.

All water params are "spot on" and ph is around 7.2 and may fluctuate a few tenths.

cichlids are from South America and are too numerouse to list. i'll see what there condition is today and maybe take some pix.
