Where Have These Snails Come From??

I bet that's true about the betta, I recently bought some plants from someone and put the plants in two different tanks. In one tank I have baby snails all over the place, but only an occasional snail sighting in the betta tank. The betta doesn't bother my apple snails, but I suspect he's eating the new baby snails. However, bettas can often be aggressive towards other fish. I can't tell you what to expect if you do nothing though, since I am about to find that out myself in the non-betta tank. So far I'm not bothered by the snails, though.

The same happened to me.
My mystery snail must have laid eggs somehow.
But we cleaned out the tank and collected all the snails we could find and set them free in a local pond, but there are still a bunch in there!
Its crazy.

Actually, there are many species of puffers that range from freshwater only all the way to marine only. However, none of them are really community fish, and to the best of my knowledge, definitely none can be with gouramis.

Also, just to clarify, bettas + gouramis=bloodshed. Or at least major fighting/fin nipping.

If you do decide to get a puffer for the snails, I would keep the puffer in a separate tank and then pluck out several snails per week to feed the puffer.
