I have a planted ten gallon aquarium with six neons, and am looking for some sort of catfish, figured pygmy cories would be the best, but I cant seem to find a place to buy them. I m in Maine, so I dont think aquarium shops would have them, and liveaquaria doesnt either, any suggestions, and how many would you think I could add without overstocking the tank. I was thinking 4-6. Thanks in advance

There's an auction going on at Aquabid right now, ending tomorrow (the 17th). Do a search for "pygmy." The seller's located in Vermont, too, so your pygmies wouldn't even have to travel very far!

If you miss this auction, there will likely be another one sooner or later. Hope that helps.

Where are you located in Maine? I'm also in Maine and most stores have a very limited selection of fish. Vance's Tropical Fish in Bucksport is the best store that I've been to, and he sometimes has pygmies in stock. If he doesn't have them I'm sure he would special order them for you. If you haven't been there before it's definitely worth checking out. He also carries a nice selection of live plants.

if you are looking for pygmaeus, be careful. many stores, ime, sell nanus under "pygmy" cory. they are a smaller species but not as small as pygmaeus.. i am pretty sure i have seen nanus on fosters and smith but not pygmaeus.
