Could anyone suggest somewhere that I might purchase some Beckford's Pencilfish? I live in southwestern West Virginia and there is no place locally (that I have found) that carries much more than basic freshwater tropicals and goldfish. I have a bowfront 20 gallon that I want to set up and plant heavily and would like a small school of these fish, if I can locate some. Is there a good (and reputable) website that I could mailorder them from?

Yes, hence why I pointed out that my PetSmart carries this specific type of fish. PetSmarts generally carry identical stock, and I was simply suggesting that he locate a local store (if possible) and give them a call. As far as I know, there is still a PetSmart located just southwest of Charleston.ChileRelleno said:

You are right, they run a tight ship, but sound like they know what they are doing. Glad to hear the endorsement before I order. As to the PetSmart near Charleston, I have looked for them there, and although they have a respectable selection of fish for this area, they did not have any Beckford's when I last checked. Of course they probably come and go, so given the constraints of dealing with AZ, it would be wise to check again before mailordering. It's just a 45 minute drive or so. Thanks for all the answers.
