Well, none of the options fit this area so I didnt vote on one.

Jac, You want the west side then. That is a long 35-40 minutes away.

In all seriousness, you would not believe the micro climates we have here. This Island is only 27 miles long (round). Some areas are having drought conditions while the center gets around 500" of rain per year. We have desert catus in one spot and bananas in another. Pretty wild really.
thats really interesting. i suppose there is an even bigger difference between all of the islands. whats the difference in the west side? is it hotter? more rainfall? i love plants, especially tropical ones and all of the ones i would love to grow im told can be grown in hawaii. woohoo-no more hauling in giant potted fruit trees when it gets cold! oh how i wish i could afford it...
whats the coldest it gets all year in kauai?

hey

i would like to live anywhere that goes thru all 4 seasons. that would be cool. i live in cali and florida. florida is boring me the beaches are getting more and more polluted.

I think that I can handle just about any climate as long as:

1 - I have the ammenities of an urban centre within an hour or so drive (ie a good lfs :D )

2 - Nature nearby, I grew up in a small town, surrounded by trees and greenery, playing in fields and forests. If I stay surrounded by concrete for too long, well, I just can't.

3 - friendly people

4 - snow for at least a couple months a year, otherwise, why would I appreciate the sun?

So, Halifax is the best place for me. Although I wish the beer were cheaper!

Living in the UK we don't get earthquakes or tornados or any extremes of anything, but if i had the choice i would live right in the middle of tornado alley, i love storms and always wanted to see a tornado so it would be my ideal place to live

edit - don't know why it shows the address instead of the picture.... but the link works.

yeah- we had some down here last year too- a mile away is too close. You just can't understand how powerful they are until you see a town utterly razed.

I'd rather live south of Tampa on the west coast of Florida.
The beaches, sunsets, and the fishing is sooo much better!

What's an earthquake? Oh - but there is lightning alley over here to worry about some....
