Which Aquafuge Setup

I have a 29 gal. tank. The tank is 30 in. long. I have a remora protein skimmer powered by a Maxi-Jet 1200 on the back along with the ins and outs to my cannister fiilter. I'm looking to put an aquafuge on the back of the tank but I am limited to space. I've read that it is good to run the lights on the refuge at the opposite hours as the main tank. Does this really make that much of a difference in the pH swings? If I do that I definitely want to go with a aquafuge 2 to help cover up some of the light, the tank is in my bedroom. Furthermore, in respect to the size limitations, would it be better to get a small aquafuge to put next to my protein skimmer, or would it be better to remove my skimmer and get a med. aquafuge with a built in skimmer?

Maybe use your skimmer to get the water for tank to fuge instead of spending $ on something you already have. Just my thoughts and/or guess.

Depending on how much LR you have in the tank I would get rid of the canister filter and run a medium hangon fuge and the skimmer
