I currently have 2 emperor 400's and pengiun mini. Which canister filter would be good. Im looking at a XP3 but it costs a pretty penny.

If you go on line, the XP3 lists at about $110 at Petsmart's on line store. Print the page and they will price match themselves at the local store. I have an XP3 on my 125 and love it. I set it up to pull water from one end and return it to the other end to avoid any dead spots.

Here ya go buddy, print out this and bring this to your local petsmart. Get it for $89.99! they will pricematch just tell them. But also for precaution, bring an ad for petsmart.com as well, its for $110. If your petsmart doesn't let you pricematch from other websites, bring their websites ad to them for $110. But first try the $89 one first of course.. good luck!

An XP3 is a great filter, and for 89 dollars, its a steal. Although personally I dont think an XP3 is a powerful enough filter to handle a 125 gallon tank. If you left at least one of the emperor 400's on the tank you'd have plenty of filter power.

I would add an XP3. Its the cheapest canister I found online (around $100). And it should provide enough filtration along 2/ the 2 Emp 400's.

reading today about petsmart price matching on the Renas' I thought this would obly be done in the US, but NO, i just left Petsmart with a new Rena xp2 for my 55 long for 78.99 thats right they matched price, the marked price was 199.99 WOW and I got a 10.00 gift certificate to boot based on the ups code. WOW In CANADA TOO, GO FIGURE!!!!! Lmao

We use 3 filters on the 80, i would add it along with the others...

Always go with two filters in a tank larger than about 30 gallons. There are many good reasons.

Agreed ..........:)
