which CO2 kit then?

is that link i provided not pressurised? I only said it was a con as its a lot of money for some green furry things really, but my birthdays coming up so i could get a system,

I dont get all of this stuff, I have seen CO2 bottle kits on tanks bigger than min eand they all have had good effects, i have to massive pieces of wood in there so im reckoning a fair bit may be displaced, What nutrient additives do you reccommend, Im a bit worried about paying £7 for a bottle of liquid and then doing 40% water changes every week at least. Does it no waste it all?

Cheers please can someone explain the CO2 daisy chain e.t.c why isnt that kit pressurisec e.t.c

I suppose i could employ some immagrent to breath down a tube into my tank to provide the cc2 rather than 600 bottles in my room

well maybe that's a bit harsh but whatever...

anyway i daisy chained three 2liter bottles in my 75 gallon. all i done was used airline and chack valves to hook them together. after a month i went pressurized. too much hassle for big tanks imo. no control.

The kit you linked to is pressurized. Metal canister with CO2 in it under pressure. Not a bad price for it at a glance.

Some folks make their own CO2 with the assistance of some yeast, fermentation style — much cheaper than immigrants. (Might want to ease up on the xenophobia… toxic brew that).

Take a bottle add water, sugar, yeast, maybe some other odds and ends. Except your only going to get so much CO2 out of a bottle and it might be enough for a 20g but its not remotely enough for a 90g on its best day (and output will vary). So you could run a series of fermentation bottles one connecting to the next, to the next, to the next, to the next, to the next in a daisy chain. Have you not seen daisy chains? Maybe ask one of the immigrants.

If you ran 4 or 5 bottles and swapped one out every 4 or 5 days you might be able to approach the output and stability of pressurized. Of course you'd be flying through sugar and gelatin at a quick enough clip to pay for the pressurized in less than a year. And its a lot of grief. I'd just get the can.

Sorry about the mis-understanding. I couldn't get the link you supplied to open yesterday(something to do with cookies) and assumed that since it was a 'kit' you were talking about a commercial sugar/yeast type set-up which is very similar to the DIY CO2 units that we are referring to in some of the posts.
Today, for some reason it did open and I see that it's a pressurized system. Very nice looking and complete. Don't know how the price equates to the dollar so I can't comment on value.
Two questions: Can you tell us how a '350g' cylinder compares in size to a 5lb. or 10lb. cylinder? And is that cylinder re-fillable? I doesn't appear to have the same type fittings that we have over here. If it is re-fillable, it sounds good.

where do you all mail order from in the us? Big als dont ship internationall :( , Ive been advised to get a jbl proflora set2 as it has a night shut off valve, what advantage is this? Also what affect does CO2 have on water chemistry as my pH seems rather low :S

as far as the SAE's are concerned they are sold as "flying foxes" here and i cant find any, also they are said to be aggressive, o well

You say you have brush/beard/hair algae?

Simple, cheap, yet very effective solution that has worked for many.......

Seahum Flourish Excel. Its worked wonders for me, and ive been Hair algae free for well over a month now!

Give it a try, although you will have to use it on a daily or every other day basis.
