Which Lighting from AH-Supply?

I have a 36 corner bowfront which I'm ready to order lights for. Could someone help me decide on what lighting I sould get? I am buying the 24" custom hood they have also. I really wanted a moon light but I will ask them when I call. Would 10K's be enough to grow plants? Or do I need to get 65K's I really like the bluish hue of higher kelvin. Thanks

with reference to light.. it is best to stick with natural or daylight for the plants.
the K rating is a temp rating ie 6500 k or 10000k
this is not as important to the plants as long as you get the light in the range they need..many bulbs in the 5000k to 10,000k range should suffice.

OK which wattage should I get? I decided on two 7800K for the 55watts but will 110watt be to much for my tank? Would two 36watt bulbs be enough?

if you do the 55 watt(110 total) over your 36 roughly <3 wpg you will need to look at adding CO2..you can try DIY or go for injected system.and fertilizers.

with the 2 36 watt you'll be at 2 wpg and can get by without CO2. tho the plants will benefit with a dyi system.

the toss up is that you can grow most plants at 2 wpg..with 3 you approach high light
tank and can grow almost all the plants.
2 wpg is easier to take care of and you have the option of upgrading by simply adding a 55 watt bulb.

if it were me..i'd start with 36 watt bulbs and move from there.

I spoke with the guy at AH-supply and here is what I got. I got the 24" custom wooden hood with the 2-36watt kits one 6700K and the other a 10K because I like the bluish color it gives. He said that it would not effect plant growth. Anyone else have these bulbs that I got see a picture of? Thanks

the 10k bulbs i have dont give off any blue.
