Hi ive got a lion from lfs and was told it was a volitan but having looked around it looks more like an antenna lion, it is the lion as my avatar picture can anyone clear this up for me please and what size can i expect him to grow ta
 
What's the size? Hard to tell--juvenile volitans have longer finnage than the adults...
 
That is Pterois Volitans.
I have seen captives up to 12 inches, in the wild they get a little bigger.
P. Antennata is quite different, here's a link to show both.
 
sorry he is about 4 inches long on the body at the moment and his fins are about 6 inches across ive looked at loads of sites and cant decide :thud: sorry floridaboy cant find link

Volitans indeed. Antenna lions look quite a bit different with a more filament-like plumage. I've kept Volitans before - cool fish, but the first to show signs of things amiss in the tank.
