which magazine to get?

I asked about magazine a few months ago because I was thinking about ordering Tropical fish hobbiest and mostly everything though that it was the best. I haven't gotten around to ordering it yet, but I will soon. Thanks for reminding me.;)

From across the pond we have this one:

Practical Fishkeeping

It covers tropical, marine, coldwater and ponds. Good regular monthly features & some interesting individual experts / pieces. Only problem is it might work to be a bit pricey for an overseas subscription.

Edit: spelling

I"ve subscribed to AFM and TFH and i have bought FAMA nad practical fsihkeeping. Here is what i thought:

AFM: I found it to be more geared towards newbies with the odd article for the advanced. I subscribed to it as my first magazine and it was ok then but now i already know most of the stuff they are talking about.I cancelled my subscription

TFH: This is my favorite. It has question answer and good articles. It has had a few lame articles but i find most of the stuff informative.Has a good balance between salt and freshwater topics, even thoguht i'm not into salt the articles are still fun to read.

FAMA: I bought this magazine a few times but never really got into it. It had more technical stuff. More of the advanced aquarist tha tis into breeding. I don't think i'll get it again unless it has somethign specifif i'm looking for.

Practical fishkeeping: Pretty good, I only got it once as it costs 9+$can. DOn't really remember what its like, but i'm thinking it was mroe like TFH(correct me if i'm wrong). If it didn't cost so muc i would get it again.

Hope this helps.I would recommend TFH if you want a subscription. Its the only one i subscribe to but i still occasionally pick up any mag that looks interesting at the counter.

I honestly don't like TFH at all. The most recent article in the October issue the Triggerfish article was WAY off. They said Undulate Triggers get to 24 inches when they only get to 9 inches. Their advice is okay, but definetly not good IMO. I only buy it once in awhile if there are many trigger articles or trigger pics. Other than that I stay clear of it. I really like AFM, and suggest this all the way. FAMA can be a bit too technical sometimes. So my vote would be AFM, but just MO.
