Which one would b the best choice?

I i get the 110 watt it has 4 built in fans, would this become a noise problem?

Also is there any way i could grow plants with the filter i have and DIY co2?

As you said my bacteria would go down the drain.

Could i grow elodea with a 55 watt?

Also do i have the have pressurized co2 for the 110 watt ?

If i were to buy the 200 lamp i would be out of money and would not be a able to get a co2 setup like that.

So the antic is just for show after the main lights go out?

Or could you put it on with the main light also?

Would it kill the plants?

Is the best option to get the 55 watt or if i wanted to become more advanced would i be wishing i got the higher wattage one?

I want to only spend this kind of money on a light once.

Also is eclipse a goood ompany?

This is the company that makes it.

The default fans are generally quite loud. You can replace them with quieter fans if you're so inclined. I find the actinic lighting makes the fish colors comes out nicely. Elodea doesn't need high light. With 55-watts over a 29 gallon you can grow almost anything.

55W/29g is a good place to be. You won't be able to grow some of the more demanding ground cover plants or myriophyllums or (probably) Cabomba but there are many stem & rhizome plants, including swords, that will do fine w/ that lighting. Read up on NPT/El Natural setups before deciding on CO2. There are both pros & cons to this approach. You should do this research before choosing substrate(s).

2x55W - not w/o a good CO2 system...

Laterite pretty well justs adds a long term source of iron. It is generally added first, under other layers of soil &/or peat (if used) and fine gravel.

so the fans are really loud?

One thing i can't stand is noise even if it is just during the day.

So it will make a loud humming noise or worse?

So i can't use the 2x55 watt without a nice pressurized co2 system?

Also what abou the filter should i keep it or lose it?

What colorful fish would you recomend under antic light or regular daylight bulbs?

I rather have bigger fish than alot of smaller ones if i can help it.

What are the requirements for a knife fish?

I want to only buy a light once so i was wondering would the smarter thing to do would be to get the heavier duty one and just run one light for right now or should i get the 55 watt because i will no be happy witht the sound of the fans.

firstly knife fish hide when lights are on. even antic light. black ghosts knives can get to 2 feet long. brown and clown knives get that too. so its a lose lose situation. sorry
