P.A M.D border
so i am going to start a terrarium and i cannot choose which one of these to put in the water i have already researched and know it will be the correct amount of space and all that but back to the question i am having a hard time choosing should i get several newts or a betta and 2 dwarf frogs. i have a big piece of wood with moss that the newts or salamanders could climb out on to. i already have a betta but i am still having a hard time choosing. or could i have frogs and newts w/ no betta.

Why would you put a betta and two dwarf frogs (both aquatic) in a terrarium?

According to the newt/salamander experts online you can only have them in a species only tank. So you're either looking at a tank with newts/salamanders OR a tank with bettas.

Is this paludarium going to have frogs in the top part? If so, you might want to skip having any other amphibians in it, or whichever is the smallest will end up being lunch.
My suggestion would be to check out dendroboard.com for info about species mixing. There's very few amphibian species that can be kept together.

He's just putting North American Hyla in there. They're not frog-chompers like some of the Neotropical and Australian treefrogs are.

Dwarf frogs need warmer water than newts do, so you can't keep them together. Which you choose to keep is entirely up to what you would prefer. A betta will need water at least 4" deep (not including the substrate), while newts can be kept in somewhat shallower water.
