which power filter should i purchase ?

If you never want "live" plants, the Wet/Dry suggestion is a good one! Wet/Dry's are also the preferred filter for Saltwater set-ups... Think about that.. would you ever consider Saltwater?

If not, and if "live" plants are a possiblility at some point, then go for a canister filter (actually you may want 2 canisters). The Filstar xP-3 is a real good one. :)

filters

thanks everyone for the advise, i do like the idea of the canister filter, but i have no experiance with them and want to make sure if i got one i wouldn't have any problems with parts breaking, so i take it the tetra tech 500 is not as good a filter as they claim then ?
