Which product for best results

I agree that you SHOULD cycle the tank first, but I have yet to actually meet someone who had the patience to wait a month or so for a tank to cycle before adding fish. I am curious about your kH. If your water has good alkalinity, I would add some driftwood or possibly add a little peat to your filtration. If you have no alkalinity (like me), it's a bit trickier because you're are subject to wild variations in pH based on adding things. As a lover of Seachem products who has tried Neutral Regulator - PLEASE DO NOT USE IT!!! It is phosphate-based, and you will be subjecting your aquarium to a whole slew of other possibilities by putting that much phosphate in your tank. The most important thing is keeping the tank stable and then finding fish who will thrive in that environment; there is some wiggle-room with fish adapting but you should resist the temptation to buy a "cool fish" that just is not suited for your tank. If you're going to cycle with fish, I recommend black neons - I think they could live in bleach.
