Which shrimp should I stock?

Haha...enough said. I like the ghost shrimp, and it would be cool to have a tank full of them that I could pull a few from now and then for my fishies to enjoy. What kind of setup would I need for them to thrive and breed?

I read this one about Cherry Shrimps, it probably applies to ghosts too? I'm waiting to move my goldfish from my small tank so I can convert it to a shrimp farm

The website linked above recommends using a sponge filter as it poses no risk to the baby shrimp. What exactly is that? I don't know if I've ever seen one.

And so these things just run off of an air pump or what?

To be honest, I've never used one before. I assume that's how they work, but without having had one, I can't say. They could be a replacement intake tube for a standard power filter. Maybe someone else can clear it up.
