Which skimmer is better???

OK, so I know everyone is going to have a different opion, but which skimmer do you all recommend? I have a 75 gallon reef tank, and I have a Coralife that I have only had a few months or so, and I hate it. I haven't even turned on in 3 weeks due to the fact that it fills my sump with bubbles which in return fills my tank with bubbles. Not to mention that any changes in my sump throws it into a hissy.

I've been looking at the AquaC Urchin and the AquaC EV120. I also looked at the Octopus, but I am limited on space in my sump. At this point I am more concerned on getting a "good" skimmer than the price. I paid between $125 and $150 for the Coralife and now I wish I would have just bought a more exspensive one. HELP!!!
 
IME, the Octopus tends to perform a little better on a regular basis. They are also less finicky to get running properly. The EV series can work very well too, but they are VERY finicky to get running optimally and they are too sensitive to changing water conditions, in my opinion. The Octopus is also more energy efficient to run.
 
Well, you just assemble the Octopus, make sure you feed water through it, and turn it on. There is going to be some initial adjustments no matter what skimmer, but you will definitely do it less with the Octopus.
 
I guess I better start searching for an Octopus then. Good thing I have't already forked out the $350 I was about to pay for the AquaC EV120.

Do you know anything about the AquaC Urchin? They say on the web site that it is easy to use. I guess it is the sump model of the Remora??
 
The urchin works fairly well and isn't quite as finicky as the EV series and is easier to adjust, but needlewheel skimmers like the octopus just work better, IMHO (and are just as easy to use/adjust). In the end, it is up to you, however.
