Which snail is this?

There is a stargate in my aquarium.
Hi all,

Well, the Betta Palace has its first resident ... and, boy, is the betta going to be ticked to find out it's not him! :lipssealedsmilie:

While looking over the tank tonight and wondering what to do about some thread algae that's recently appeared, I saw something moving.

Apparently, there were some snail eggs on the plants I bought two weekends ago. (Big surprise, eh?) I'm no snail expert, so I thought I'd post a picture to see if anyone recognizes the little guy and knows if I should be concerned about him. To add to what's in the pics, he seems to have a black body, and the shell looks like a blackish spiral (like a MTS shell) with a gold sheen. He doesn't seem to be leaving holes in living leaves, but I haven't been watching for too long. Oh, and for now, since he's so fast, I've named him "Zippy." :)

Here are the photos. You can see him on a leaf next to the Tacky Ceramic Ornament in both shots. Thanks in advance for any Invert Wisdom.

Yesterday I found the exact same one! how big these babys get? do they breed, or just lay jelly sacks like ramshorn?
Pond snails can get 1-2 cm in size. Small but very prolific. They lay sacks containing dozens of eggs in them. Control feedings to control their population.
