I'm tired of getting untrustworthy results from my Aquarium Pharmaceuticals test kit so I want to use a water conditioner made by them. That way I'll know for sure that my water conditioner isn't screwin' with my results.

I'm not sure which one to use though as they have quite a selection.

They have Tap Water Conditioner, Stress Coat, Stress Zyme (not too sure about this one), and Ammo-Lock.

The only ones that say anything about chloramines are the Tap Water Conditioner and Ammo-Lock.

Anyways, let me know what you think. I hate using the polls but I thought it would be the easiest way for you guys to show which you all liked best.

Thanks!!

I would use Prime (more economical, better quality IMO, works on chlorine and chloramines) and use a different test kit if you are not happy with how yours performs, particularly a non-Nessler based ammonia test product that is not affected by various water conditioning products ....good luck!

I'm guessing a lot of people here use prime? The ammonia test kit that I use isn't nessler based, but I'm still getting strange results for some reason. I know that the test itself isn't faulty because it worked just fine before I switched to AmQuel.

What is it about Prime that you guys prefer over anything else?

I guess I'm the only one that uses Stress-Zyme but then again, I've never used Prime... maybe that's what I'll buy next time.

Does it remove chlorine and chloramines from the water? I don't like the fact that it supposedly contains "100 million live bacteria per teaspoonful" and "improves the development of your biological filter".

Do you like the way it works in your tank? I'm thinking maybe not since you're considering switching to Prime.

 It's not one of the above choices but I also use 'Prime'. It seems to be the most complete water conditioner. The 'sulfur' kick might take some gettin' use to but the end results are worth it. I also use 'Seachems' tests for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate ect. They mfg. 'Prime' so there's no problem. Good Luck

The only downside to prime is if you happen to spill it. I did that once and regretted it bc it STINKS. Otherwise, wonderful product. :)

 I could be mistaken cause I've never used it but I believe StressZyme falls more under the bio-additive category than water conditioner. StressCoat is A/P's all purpose conditioner. Good Luck
