Whisper 3i Bubbling?

I just picked up a Whisper 3i filter for my 2.5 gallon, its an air driven internal filter, and its giving off an un-godly amout of bubbles, the top of the filter is raised up due to the bubbles. Anyone have any experience with these?

Get an air control valve and control how much air goes into the tank. That will control how much bubbles there are. The more bubbles = more filtration + loud. The less bubbles = less filtration + quieter

Just leave it alone if it doesn't bother you. I have this filter and I love it. I was curious about the problem so I called Tetra and they said that it is alright for it to "over-bubble" and that was how they made it to work. If there are tons of bubbles along with water flowing over the cartridge, it is time to clean it. As far as the lid lifting up, don't worry about it and if it bothers you, remove the lid, it pops right off.

Yeah, it does bother me. So I bought a valve when I was at the store today, will hook it up when I get home. So if I get less filtration I'm OK with it, it's just a nano with a single betta.

maybe a small air stone the break up the bigger bubbles.

I have tried airstones in mine to get better flow, but I can't find any that fit...

the valve seems to be doing a good job, there really isnt a place to connect an airstone, unless you mod the intake tube.
