My white cloud, long time ago, used to have the "bent" look people sometimes get with danios and minnows. However, it got back to a healthy appearance and I was very pleased. But its belly didn't stop there, and now it is extremely bloated-looking! I fed it about one flake per day for the past few days, but it is not getting any skinnier. Is this an issue of feeding or something else?

Some pictures are attached.

:( what should i do? poor Shasta (or Fuji, I forget which) has little to be thankful for today :( bump!

I'm very sorry, he does look very bad. BFM's opinion sounds very logical on this - this doesn't look like typical abdominal bloating.

Have you seen him poo, and, if so, can you describe it, please? He could possibly have something else going on internally.

I have not seen him poo, unfortunately :( However, today the area looks less like someone put a small pea inside, and more smoothed out like a simply fat fish. This area changes a lot, and I really have no idea why. He swims and acts normally, and still has a great appetite. The scales are not sticking out, nor does he gravitate towards a specific area of the tank.

Should I change feeding or add salt, or any sort of treatment in case? Thanks!!
Bump!

I think I'd try to get him to eat some english pea that you can nuke in the microwave, peel and slightly mush. To make it extra enticing soak it in some freshly crushed garlic juice. The english pea can help if there's an issue of constipation or gas in the gut by getting his bowels moving, hopefully.

I think I'd do the pea and then fast him for a day. See if you can observe him having a good poo, lol.

This could be the problem, but I don't know for sure. It can't hurt to try this at any rate.

If you do the pea, fast him, and still don't see him poo then I'd try another pea. I hope he feels better soon. Keep us posted.

He likes peas very much! I fed it yesterday and tonight, and I'll fast tomorrow. I am anxiously waiting!

Doing better, I'm guessing. I'm fasting him today after two peas for the past couple of days. The shape of his swelling has changed from a very unnatural, odd-looking lump to a slightly more natural obese look (does that signal an improvement?). I'll get some pics up soon. How should I go about preparing garlic? Thanks!

Maybe it's shrinking? I give you a lot of credit for treating a single fish that generally costs less than a dollar and is often considered a feeder... Not really sure about preparing garlic, I can't stand the stuff.
