White Fuzz in Tank????

I have some white fuzzy looking stuff gowing on my plants and on the inside of the glass to a lessor degree. On the plants it looks like hair algae, but it's opaque and whitish as opposed to green. On the glass it looks like small white flecks that sway a bit with the water current (but they don't move from place to place). It looks like mold or fungus almost but I've been really careful not to overfeed or anything along those lines.

I know it's not a great description, but does anyone know what it might be? I'd post pics, but it's pretty much impossible to get a shot of it that anyone could see.

It's an 80 gallon, ammonia 0, nitrates 0, nitrites 0, PH 6.8-7.0, soft water.
 
Im in the middle of cycling my tank and just noticed it about 10 minutes ago on my of bog wood. I dont have any fish in there, so wheres it coming from? I did put some fish flakes in for a laugh a wee while ago....
 
I have no idea, but i have the same stuff on my driftwood. My tank is cycled though, but i used a good dose of bio spira to do so. Wonder if it has anything to do with bacteria.
 
i have the same white substance growing on my drift wood, none on my plants,gravel,glass or filter...........just the wood.

anyone know what it is???

Btw, i'm about 2 weeks into cycling the tank with 5 neon tetra's and 2 sucker loaches.

A while ago in a tank no-longer used I had the same problem. I used a fungus cure and it removed the unknown white fluff fast. I don't know if diatoms die from fungucides... do they?
 
It is a conbination of bacteria and algae forming on fine leaved plants (Cabomba)and bogwood.
I get it a lot in my nursery & breeding tanks.
I remove & swap bog wood regularly from tank to tank as my plecos seem to love it and clean it off in no time at all.
