finaly work out how to post pics...:dance2:

can anyone help me identify these little critters please. they seem to be everywhere all on the back of the glass on the rocks, they dont seem to move and when i try and scrape them with the glass cleaner, it just goes over them. I can describe them as, white little swirles Some of the bigger ones seem to have like fan-tail or somthing. Should i worry about these things and do they pose a threat to all my hard work:sad:

thanks guys..

looks like copepods to me....they stick to the sides of the tank, harmless little reef creatures present in any healthy tank with live rock. you can scrape them off with a razor blade if they appear on the front or sides of the tank.

definatly not copepods. it sounds like they are just little fan worms. i have a bunch in my tank. but check on thing for me, is ther a long (3+mm) piece of the tube sticking strat out perpendicular to the class? or a thin mucus thread coming out?
either way, they are harmelss and jsut filter feed on different particles in your system.
they will come off with a razor blade as suggested

iam not to sure i used a magnify glass to have a look and i can see some sort (the same things that feather dusters have) its even hard tell with the magnify glass.

they are just small filter feeding tube worms. unfortunatly, i dont remember the species name off the top of my head. i believe theu are something like spirinoid worms? maybe i am thinking of something else. but either way, i be the spelling isnt right. lol
anyways, they do no harm whatsoever, jsut feed on free nutrients in the water colum.
have fun

i think i found out what they are, just googled it and this is a very much likeness of what i have

Little Spiral Feather Duster worm - how original
