== The Definition of a Chatroom Killer ==
Some basic ground rules do need to be applied, specifics noted, and duly understood.
What is a Chatroom? Well, a chat room is an online community where people of all walks of life, ages and interests all get together and talk about various topics, whether that be the latest football match, aquariums, work and the like.
Why do we use Chatrooms? We are human, and humans love to talk and get together, enjoy other people’s humour or views on a specific subject or topic.
Are they a valuable online resource? Yes, they certainly can be. People visit online chatrooms with the intent to put a specific problem on the table, and various peoples point of view, ways to remedy the problem. That, in it self is an invaluable tool and resource as it is all being talked about in real time, the info can be saved and printed off and it is of useful nature.
What are the downsides of chatroom? Being human makes us all unique in our own little ways. That includes our own viewpoints, our own opinion on a certain matter or subject. So, chatroom’s can certainly be a daunting place if you join in the middle of a heated debate.
So....The scenario is inevitably going to happen when conversation runs dry. Who is to blame for "Killing the Chatroom"? Well, that answer can be looked at from various perspectives, but all lead to the one same point. A certain individual did it!
Before we go any further, i shall produce a few examples of how easily people have the knack of killing the chatroom DEAD! The names have been removed to protect the "guilty" parties involved.
Example 1.
[A******] 8:13 pm: Dead old ladies and handwritten cards
What more can be said when such a "statement" is made in a chatroom? No words can be expressed at how easily 6 words can do it from a completely innocent remark about a legitimate conversation.
Example 2.
[M*****] 11:16 pm: i dont think mr * is here right now, but according to his pond its 400 gals
[M*****] 11:18 pm: IM BEING THREATENED OVER HERE CALL CHILD SERVICES
[M*****] 11:18 pm: lol
[C****] 11:18 pm: wanted...Malbri...for chat homicide....you all have the right to remain silent
[C****] 11:18 pm: this one's going in the chat killer thread
WOW. Sometimes, some of us have an innate ability to stop a Chatroom instantly....BAM....When its killed like that, you may as well just go home, it CANNOT be revived. "M" above only took 2 seconds for this attempt. And succeeded with ease.
Example 3.
[f*******] 6:37 pm: stupid snail had somehow wedged itself into the impellar and stopped it from turning
[f*******] 6:37 pm: i thought i was gonna have to buy a new filter
[f*******] 6:39 pm: quick! somebody say something!
[M*****] 6:39 pm: killer
Well, this example just goes to show how easily a room is killed, by making a purely innocent statement regarding a situation with "his" aquarium. Again, the 2 second rule was applied.
Example 4.
Chatroom was buzzing as it normally is, then incomes "M" and does the following..
[M*****] so...wazzup?
room pauses
[M*****] oooor not
room pauses
[M*****] echoo....echoo
BANG. KILLED IT DEAD
Last, but not least..
Example 5.
[W****] 11:49 pm: lol ** likes the catsuit
[f*******] 11:49 pm: now everybody is being silent so they can vlame me “again”
[f*******] 11:49 pm: *blame
[f*******] 11:49 pm: dum dee dum
[M*****] 11:49 pm:
f******* burps a big one
W**** dances
f******* grabs w**** and dances with her
[C****] 11:51 pm: *kicks the corpse of chat*....y'know that's a real shame...that chat had one more week to retirement
“The purposeful Chatroom Killer”. The reason i have left this one till the last is because it shows the perfect example of how somebody, very very easily, can dump the chatroom off the edge of a cliff. Note the word above "again" being used in this example. That is the key to this. The person that uses this type of statement seems to purposely enter into the chat conversation with the sole intent of being a "Chatroom Killer".
I myself have been hit with many many accusations of killing a chat room in its step. These allegations are of course unfounded, un-documented and completely un-true. As i spend a lot of time in online chat, i see it as a purpose in my life to revive a killed Chatroom as the quickest opportunity...
There is a simple equation that can demonstrate this above statement.....
Niko + chatkiller = Unfounded.
