Who Keeps Silver Arowana's

I've never kept a silver, but i've had a green asian arowana, and right now i have a red tail golden.
Tank is 180g and i just recently beefed up filtration.

They get fed pellets, prawn and whatever else they will accept (usually smelt and squid)

If you have the means to care for one i'd definitely recommend them, very graceful fish

we have had silvers in the past...currently we have a black, about 28" or so...in our 3240 gallon tank. She will eat shrimp, beef heart and hikari pellets. I agree with Spartan...one of the most elegant and interesting fish you will find.

We just have the one currently in our tank. When she's hungry, she'll come out of the water to take whatever food is in there....I think she's a big contributing factor to my 'NEVER put your hands in fishwater' phobia....

Need a 180gal Get a small one 3 to 5 inches. Don't get one with the yolk sac still on it. Start feeding it carnivorous food sticks Hikari makes a good one. If you feed it live or meaty foods from the get go it'll get expensive. arowana could live over 20 years. The biggest cause of death is Suicide jumping out of the tank.
