Ok right now I only have my 65 gl hex running with the following fish in it:
10 neons
5 platys(god I can never spell it right)
2 clown loachs
2 bala sharks
2 rainbow sharks
2 peacock eels
1 ghost knife

Yes I know its overstocked and yes I know how big all these fish can get. Please nothing bothers me more then people who feel the urge to go on and on about how overstocked my tank is.

Now before the end if the month I will have a 50 gl and a 30 gl up and running. The 50 has 3 piranhas in it but I am going to give those away if I can, I have to take them if I want the tank.

I also lucked out and ended up with a 55 gl tank but that needs some work on it so it might take a month or so before I get it going.

But just using the 50 and 30 and 65 hex what would be a good setup fish wise for these tanks?

First concern would be to seperate the sharks. One would be fine in either the 65 or the 55. The eels also can go in either tank, or be split up.

I'd move the neons and platies to the 30. Fill it out with some cories, or other small bottom dweller--kuhli loaches are a favorite of mine.

The balas will outgrow either tank, but I'd probably put them in the 55 simply to give them more horizontal swimming room. Ditto for the knife. That leaves the clowns and one rainbow in the 65, giving space for a group of mid size fish, like rainbows. The 55 will work for a while with those fish, but I'd avoid adding anything else to it.

Well, how to put this delicately... some of the fish you have are too large even for the 65 gallon. The Balas, ghost knife and clowns will need at least the 65, and honestly, it's too small for them. If you bumped up to a 120 gallon or better in the near future, it could work, but that's only based on adult sizes and not termperments. Also in the 65, I'd put one of the rainbow sharks. They aren't very sociable fish and will squabble with their own kind violently in small groups. I'd remove the platys and neons to the 30 gallon. In the fifty, the peacock eels, the other rainbow shark (and keep an eye on these rainbows) and I think, that addressed all of your fish, excluding the Pirahna. If you can give them away, you might look into a new home for the ghost knifefish as well. They can be problematic enough without having to deal with them in cramped quarters and fussy tankmates.

Yea I didn't really want the bala sharks but a friend had them in a 30 gl and wanted to get rid of them, he was going to flush them and I took them.

The more I think about I would like to get rid of the rainbow sharks also. The bala's do not bother anyone in the tank but the one rainbow is going to eat someone soon I am sure of it. He is fine until feeding time then he just starts to chase everyone in the tank for like a hour.

Maybe Petsmart will take them since I don't really have any LFS in the rea.
