Who wants anything cheaper from petsmart then the regular price.

I was thinking if you dont mind waiting for the product and dont like shopping..And I dont know if tax is charged or not from the website but the bottom line is that a person is not really saving that much if you just buy online than in the store with the printout..Here are the shipping charges and it relates to how much you purchase:

Up to $25.00 $6.95
$25.01-$50.00 $8.95
$50.01-$75.00 $10.95
$75.01-$100.00 $12.95
$100.01-$150.00 $14.95
$150.01-$200.00 $16.95
$200.01-$250.00 $18.95
$250.01-$500 $21.95
Over $500 $24.95

You really can save quite a bit buying online.
Yesterday for example:
Aquaclear 200/50 HOB filter:
Online price 19.99, add shipping and it's still only 26.94.
I called my local petsmart to check their price, it's 35.99.
Considerable savings just to buy online or print out and do a price match. At least 9 dollars is considerable to me! (even more if you price match and don't pay shipping)
lol I even forgot to ask if this petsmart does price match when I was so shocked by the price difference to online.
Apparently they don't want to have stores anymore and want us to shop online. And I almost always see "Something" in the store to add to my purchases that I hadn't planned on. Too bad that doesn't happen online :)

Bianca-

Have only used the price match at PetSmart with a printout from PetSmart online; the manger at my local store (in Middle Georgia) has no problem with it; I have made comments about it and she just smiles...

Only problem is they have changed the website a tad-instead of having all the filters of one brand on one page, each model comes up seperate. So if I want to price match a (for instance) a Penquin 200, and have the printout for same, but if they are out of stock of that size, I'm outta luck. With the old system, hadd all models listed on that same page.

Paranoia rising it's ugly head: maybe they are making it harder for us to price match?

WHere's the tin-foil for my hat....

:thud:

Yea, happened to me...was looking for a heater (100W), they didn't have it in stock...good thing I had a 50W printout too (it was my mistake, actually!).

hey guys,

i'm new here and just skimming through the forums for starters, but this thread got me pretty excited.

since most poeple in this thread have no problems getting the price match but a few do i was wondering if y'all could post what state it did or did not work in - unless that would fill the thread with too many unnecessary posts.

i will defenitly call my nearest petsmart tomorrow, but this really got my interest right now.

thanks for the awsome tip!! :bowing:

Go to PetSmart.com, get their 800#, call and ask them. They'll say it's company policy. Get the CSR's name (customer service representative) and agent ID.

If the manager or cashier in the store gives you trouble, give them the 800# and the CSR name and agent ID and they can check it out for themselves. It's a corporate policy and everyone has to follow it.

Managers don't like doing it because they lose money if they price match an item and have to sell it form their inventory for less.

How about that.
I just received an email from pertsmart saying
free shipping from website on any orders over $40.00

hehe

I believe that it is a Petsmart policy to price match their website prices. Correct me if I'm wrong. There was a Petsmart in my area that use to match Dr. Foster and Smith's prices. I got a 25' python for $22.99, a Visi-Therm Stealth 250w Heater for $17.99 and an 24" All Glass Versa Top for $9.99 (some html editing before printing... hehe). I guess after this they stopped. I believe Petco does the same thing... match their website prices.

Does petsmart sell the same items with F&S?
I have few items I picked up from F&S on line that cost about $66 but Im trying to see if F&S can post coupons to save me few bucks. I just stored it on my cart to check out later after I got some coupons from them.

I tired this at my petsmart in canada-it didnt work.
they gave me some excuse about not doing price matching for websites.
Annoyed!

The SAME thing happened to me at our local CDN PetSmart, I'm really interested in knowing if there is any possibility to make this work on the northern side of the border.

I'd go to another location, but the only other one is prohibitive to get to, and the savings just wouldn't be sufficient to go that far outta the way :(
