WHOA!! My temp!

one thing to think about for future..get 2 smaller heaters. 20 gallon should have approx 100 watts..so 2 50's.

My heater on my 150 comes on for less than 30 sec every maybe 3-5 min and is unbelievably accurate... Its kindof anoying at night but Im ok with it now...

same here lol..

it doesn't shoot up, it goes like, .1 degrees per 10 mins...

right now, it's 78.7..

how can it be dying? I just got it like, a month ago!

well, how do I cool off my tank?

there's no way to turn it down?

better to take it out than to overheat the fish. put a blanket or something over the tank to keep it warm, or turn the house heat up a little tonight.

can the lighting raise the temp?

i really don't adjust the time for the lighting, i just turn it off before I sleep...

Mechanical things can go **** up whenever they want to; it's the nature of the beast.

Remember, Murphy was an optimist!

I had a heater in my fully planted discus tank for just four months when the heater malfuntioned and heated the tank to 110 degrees! Obviously I lost everything in that tank;the discus, cories, all of the live plants. What a mess. It was very sad. Don't risk it! Get another heater.
