whos it gonna be

I have 3 royal grammas and none of them are "jerks." Once in a while they defend their territory but they don't attack any of the other fish. The clowns are related to damsels but not known to be as aggressive (unless you're thinking of tomato or maroon clowns).

I really like the looks of the flame or coral beauty. Ok, actually I like all of the dwarf angels! And they would really add some color to a tank. Unless you're considering a sand-sifting goby I wouldn't worry about how much sand you have.

would a coral beauty be happy in the tank like this? ... thats basically my setup... outside of those rocks its just sand to the walls. there are around 3-4decent caves I think. (2 are already taken) Is that enough room for a Coral to swim?

I don't you think you can keep a dwarf angel in a 30g other than a C. argi or C. acanthops. Coral Beauties are active fish, and need a lot of space to roam a graze, a tank of at least 50 gallons is best. I had a flame angel for some time, and eventually he passed away due to unknown reasons, I figured he was stressed in my tank. If a Coral beauty could be kept in a 30g, I would go out and buy one right away. I asked WWM's suggestion and they told me that you cannot keep a dwarf angel in a 30g for the longrun. You can have a small one for a short while, but don't think you can keep him there long unfortunatly : /

However, there might be somebody out there who disagrees and/or has had success with keeping them in 30 gallons.

Never new about Eibl's, I can just guarantee that a Cherub Angel will do fine in your size tank, but he can be quite the meaney.

I've only had a Flame in my 29G QT for a few weeks but of course, that was temporary. Liveaquaria suggests 30G for Flames and Coral Beauties but I really think they're liberal a lot of times and would trust the advice of WWM over them any day.

hey, he's nice looking. hmmmm.... def an option.... he's safe with clean up crew, shrimp?
