flames can do well in a 29G, and yes chromis do school (i have 8 but want to double that) if you want some red I would go with a flame hawkfish, best fish with personallity, and kind of looks like he came from a dr seuss book. for yellow, a watchman goby would be nice. purple and yellow would be a bicolor Psudochromis or a royal gramma if you want schooling fish there are green cromis, clowns are really good two for orange and white. also if you want a black and white there are b&W perculas that are VERY NICE. But like someone else suggested bumping up your school of firefish would be a good idea as well. Many Many choices my freind.
Liveaquaria, although I must admit does have some of the best info compared to other sites, most of it is all not that true. They give you a good description of the fish, its origin, compatibility, and where its from. As far as tank sizes and difficult, they aren't really on the spot. A little stretching of the truth to make a sale. IMO I don't think anyplace is better than WWM.

i was under the impression that you weren't supposed to have more then one firefish per tank because they would fight.
The Flame angels are awesome, but i'm concerned he might want to attack my firefish, his tail is totally red and my red fire shrimp because of their colors....
bi color psdo and royal gramma have interested me from the start.
My book (The Marine Aquarium) also says Firefish are shoaling fish. As to your dilemma about a flame angel. I had one with a fire shrimp and a firefish(granted mine was a purple firefish) and I had absolutely no problems with them. I've also had a Cherub Angel and I would say she was the least boistrous out of all my fish.
