Why are all the best threads closed?

Just curious. It seems like every time I actually find something of interest, or want to add information, the thread is closed. Good information should be stored, but why not keep the thread open as well so information could be added.

For instance...

"General Betta Care Discussion Thread" - I want to add that yes, Betta do great in aquariums IF they are planted - with live plants. Betta like lots of places to hide, and even sleep nestled in plants. NOT something you will see in a small cup of water.

Some fish do freak out when initially put into a tank - all by themselves. But in a community tank with non aggressive fish, they learn the "new ropes" quickly and thrive - develop better finnage and size.

Okay, that's all I wanted to add... for now.
 
Most likely...

1- they are old and dont need to be rebumped.. the info is there so enjoy it

2- they turned into arguments or rudeness
