Why are peacocks not compatible with yellow labs?

I read the compatibility(or not) article.
I would rather listen to the experience of my fellow forum members, with experience in mixing them, and so I did add peacocks, and I'm definitely not sorry about doing so. You post good info blue2fry, but this time we need to remove the GENERALLY speaking non compatibility, and see from others experiences that they do in fact get along quite well.
I bought my fish from a breeder who had them all tanked together.
I was a bit worried about getting them, thats why I didnt buy the peacocks first time I bought from him, cos I read some peacock profiles, but I watched alot of videos as well with mixed mbuna, hap, etc tanks.

So we have an exception to the rule :)

guys, what do you suggest I add to my tank for some colour?
Have a look at the video and see what it could do with.
You can tell I like blue.
I would like a colourful male peacock. There are 18 females to go around.
Suggestions?

I just picked a breeding group of Ngara Flametails (Blue and Red) and they are in my mind the best looking Peacock :) a few other colorfull Peacocks I have are Strawberry Peacock(Pink),Sunshine Peacock(Blue and Yellow) Or maybe some OB Peacocks(Spotted). I also added a few pictures of my fish living peacefully mixed together :)

i also mix Peacocks with Mbuna in my tank no problem in the last two year . It seem that the Mbunas spread out the aggression between the each other and leave the peacocks alone

Haha so there you go the experience of keeping them together wins the topic war. Haha I got Lucky? hahahahaha Thanks guys who supported me on this issue backing me up with your vids and pics. I post here some pics of mine. The last pic are Electric Blue Peacock Babies. Let me see if the pecocks were so stressed out by the Mbunas they wouldn't have time to spawn. :raspberry:

Fine believe what you want. I just know if you go on any rift lake forum/section it's not recommended. I also know MANY experienced malawis keepers that will say the same thing. I was only saying you were lucky since you are keeping peacocks with some of the most aggressive mbuna out there.

Also OB peacocks are part mbuna so obviously they will work in most cases with mbuna since they are generally meaner. And as I have said at least 10 times that everyone likes to ignore, yellow labs are more mellow and can work well in a peacock tank. I was just stating in general, yet again something everyone chooses to ignore. Since you had some zebra types I was more concerned about that in your tank. Most zebras I experience are too much for even other mbuna so I was worried about the peacocks being stressed out by the zebras.
Congrats on it working for 4 days. I would keep an eye on the zebras as they mature. As a mbuna keeper I know they can be brutal once they mature. Luckily it's a big tank. Also as I asked before what type of fish are your electric blues?

You mentioned here what type of peacocks are the electric blue. Well they are Aulonocara stuartgranti (Chilumba). Well in regards to what is said you can never compare tank raised to Wild caught.
