Why do people rave some much about aquaclear 110's

There big filters.........:)
 
I've switched all of my HOBs to AquaClears. But, I just returned my only AC 110 and replaced it with a Rena XP2. I needed something quieter for my living room tank, and it compliments my XP3 well. I'll miss that filter a lot, and can't wait to buy another one.
 
I have one, and it holds at least 5x the volume of an AC 50 (which I have on the same tank). They're nice, actually easier to change than the smaller ones.
 
I agree.... mine is easy to clean and does a great job.
 
Because all the great things we can do by modding them. They can be made into a fuge, wavemaker, wetdry, and all the diff. media we can pack into them appeals to many as well :)
 
To be honest I have two AC 110's I would trade them in a minute for Emperor 400's. IMO they hold a lot of media that is it. the amount of Biological media you can fit in there is equal to what two biowheels will hold. They are great if you are using them for media besides Bio/mechanical media.
 
For the money it is a great buy(got mine at pestmart for $43 on sale), large compartment , easy to clean, holds anything, low maintenance what else do you need.
