Why do we love fish (in tank)?

I started 5 months ago with a 5G for my daughter. Then I was the one
became totally hooked. I went from 5G to 20G to 36G to now 55G
in 5 months ( I should have gotten 75G instead of the 55G). My wife
initially thought I was mentally disturbed. She has basically 0.00 interest in
fish tank. She thinks I was trying to avoid her by staring at the tank
hours after hours. Later she started to realize that actually many
people are like me (or mentally disturbed.)

At the begining I was just interested in the fishes themselves. After seeing
some pics of planted tanks, especially the AGA aquascaping contest,
I then became out of control.

Can someone suggest me a way to calm down a bit? Or can you
tell me why do you love fishes in a tank?

Thank you. I needed to laugh.. and I laughed my *** off upon reading this post and this thread. We are all crazy people but we're good people, so any help you need with your constant tank nuerosis buddies with scales... we'll be here to help.

LOL@ this thread! I thought I had it bad with 2 ponds, only one has fish and 3 tanks, well, ok, the 10 gal is technically my daughters's, but I just have too much fun maintaining it for her! Having an aquarium is to me, like having a front row seat to serenity. I too, plan on aquascaping a tank, but I need to save some cahs first! lol Good luck with your out of control addiction, I'm sure there is no help for me! Totally hooked
