:huh:I have two parret fish that are losing there color they were orange and now they are turning white not sure why can some one give me information about why thank you

How long ago did you get them? They may be changing colors because of the water/temperature/tank/etc. changes. A lot of times I will see a very pretty betta at the pet store and when I bring him home and put him in a clean, filtered, well lighted tanks he changes colors; sometimes to better colors and sometimes to colors I would have rather not have had him turn to. The reason your parret fish changed colors (probably) is because the lightining and other stuff is different than it was at the pet store.
Another reason could be far different from that...I think someone else will bring it up since I dont know too much about it.

It's probably stress of some type (water quality, scared, illness, old age, etc.)

What are your water conditions?

Anything newly changed and/or added? How long have you had the fish?

i know my skirt tetras go almost pale when sleeping, but after the lights are turned on for about 4-5 minutes they darken right up.

yes please post the parameters of the tank..ammonia, nitrites, nitrates temp etc.

size of tank and inhabitants.

there are many reasons fish lose color..part of it may be stress related.. blood parrots may change color as they mature.

Yes, that's what I meant when I said:

these fish are often dyed and if yours are among those, their original color will fade.
