why is my water cloudy? *pics*

i use 2 wisper hob 10-15

i change the pouch once every 3 months or so whenever needed realy and they needed it this time so i changed them

maintain.

i vacume/water change every other week about 35% of the water

theres a festivum 2 keyholes and a cae in there

am I the only person that sees this, and thinks that he pretty much just got rid of his bacterial colony?

hence, a full cycle.

talk to me ... not them.

the water seems to be getting cloudyer. the fish seem fine

should i use a filter bag off of another filter.... did i seirusly just restart a full cycle...

if i did does this mean i need to get the fish out?

people i posted this for help. i know whats wrong ... please help me make sure i dont kill my fish

if you replaced the entire filter bag, you probably set off a mini-cycle..
not to worry.. keep a close eye on your ammonia levels and you'll be alright. do daily water changes to keep the ammonia at less than .25, preferably 0, and take this into consideration the next time you want to change your filter. :)

I wouldn't say you've got a full cycle to go through, since you only changed the filter bags. There's still lots of good bacteria in the gravel and decor. Mini-cycle is likely, though. Just keep testing the water to keep an eye on it, pwc when the levels rise. Your fish should be fine.

Maybe go to an alternating schedule for replacing the filter bags, so you're not changing both at the same time.

Nice layout, by the way!

filters i have 2 ... are they still undersized?

so how should i do that? keeping my nitrites low. do i change water every week ... how much? and how long before i can stop woriing about this
do you know what gph they put out?

whisper filters are also not the best at keeping the water clean...you would be better off with a Penguin 200 or AC 50

au contraire.. ive had a whisper 30 for 4 years now and it's chugged along as efficiently and quietly as my eheim canister.. in all different kinds of setups.. from the oscar in the 29g, to the 200 guppies in the 29g, to the 1500 snails in the 20g, you name it, that filter's done it.. and i've never had water quality issues with it. ;)

i stand corrected. glad to hear you had good experiences with them

if everyhting is 0, that is another reason taht you are probably going through another cycle. get some media from another tank if you can.

the thing is if you look at my stand there isnt much room behinde the tank about 4.5 inches and these just bearly fit

what eles is out there i would definatly be interested in changing my filtration system i dont realy like hobs but they work and i run them on all my tanks

except my 10 i had to run an intank filter... cause its up against the wall.

edit: ill try and finde the gph... i know its not great
