Hi,
I have a 55 Gallon tank with 160W light. I am using hagen co2 system with it and i have a problem with my anacharis. They are turning brown and decaying. What is wrong with them?

Here are my water paramters

PH 7.1
KH 12
GH 12

Are you using only one CO2 system because for that size tank, you will need at least two. Also, before planting the anacharis, take the bottom leaves off the stem so that you do not plant them. If you do, they could rot, causing the whole stem to rot.

fe is iron... im not sure what my iron levels are, but my new anacharis ( got them on the 17th) are growing new shoots on the side and growing modified leaves... if i were to put it sideways so that it is parallel to the ground, will the shoots go up? and how many shoots do they grow? and also, does anyone have any pics of a sideways anacharis? sorry to take over your post man :p

Are you using any fertilizers?

are you using an undergravel filter?
Also, NJ Devils Fan has a good point that I have used and that's to strip the stem that is under the substrate so the stems won't rot at the base. That will kill them off pretty well.
