I have looked at all the stores where I live and they don't have pandas. A few stores tried to order them and couldn't get them.

Are they rare, hard to breed or fragile?

They are very readily and regularly available to fish shops from suppliers/wholesalers, and I would estimate that 90% of the pet/fish shops that I visit have them in stock pretty much all year long.

yeah. they're very common around my neck of the woods

They are NOT common in my area at all.

I guess it all depends were you live and what people want as far as supply and demand go in your area.

You can always order online if you want them bad enough.

Thanks, I'll keep at it. I am not going to settle for any other cory! I don't want to order right now, I live in Wisconsin. They may arrive as frozen fish! I may have to drive to Milwaukee to find them.

Wow, when don't they have them? Must be an area thing.

I don't see them a lot around here, either...actually, neither of the places I call "here" or "home" have them all that often.

To answer the other question, I do find Pandas to be somewhat more susceptible to illness and they succumb to poor water quality a lot more quickly than other cories that are "common" in the hobby.

Hi,

Are petstore only gets the basic fish in (Guppies, Bronze Cories, Gouramis, Mollies, ect.). So sometimes I have to order fish that I want. Panda Cories are on the order list about 50% of the time. Why don't you get C. arcuatus or C. metae? I know you said you only wanted Pandas, but both those species I mentioned look very close to Pandas.
