Why the heck is my betta so childish?

when i had my 7 lil bettas i found out right quick just how individual their palates were. only one of my females ever ate flake food, the rest would either ignore it or spit it out.

i agree, just feed the betta pellets alongside other foods he will eat (bloodworms, etc). no sense having food go to waste and polluting the tank.

After he eats his fill (whether of flakes or pellets, and i've noticed that hikari micro wafers and betta bites are his favorites), he'll snap up anything that moves and spit it out. So weird. Thanks all!
