I was baby sitting my friends lung fish a while back. (Aussie lung pretty big boy) and I went to pet him as my friend always did and he popped me on my pinky finger. It felt like a Cadillac car door getting slammed on my finger. Any ways it caused a hematoma (spelling) And my pinky swelled up like a golf ball. I had to go to the ER where they used a instrument to burn holes through my nail and skin to drain the nasty fluids. My nail came off later that day. I got lots of vicodin and anti biotics all is well now this was almost a year ago I think.

owowowowowow!!! I would have been DRUGGED up on that vicodin! and never stuck my hand in that water again! (I'm even scared of my bettas biting me....... okay I'm a wimp)

ouch. yup, that would be a good deterant from petting one. does your buddy still pet him? if that's what an aussie can do i'd hate to see what would happen if my african lung decided to get me since aussies are a lot more sociable than the other varieties.

also, thanks for posting that for me (:

lol NP and no he doesn't pet him any more. And I dont baby sit the thing either. I skipped the vicodin as I have been sober from opiates for 2 years this month (competitive fighting got me off the opiates) . Vicodin would have relapsed my ***.

be glad it wasn't an African lung they have been know to remove fingers and remember those tooth plates lungy's have are designed to crush the shells of clams,
and other inverts -Anne
