It seems like all my plants are sprouting roots right out the side of the plant. From top to bottom roots are growing out of the stems. Is this normal am I doing something wrong. Should I just start cutting and planting???????
My plants do this all the time , perfectly normal if a bit strange looking sometimes. When they get large I just cut the plant in a good spot a "voila" free new plant - lucky for you right!!
It could mean that there is not enough nutrition in the substrate for the plants. They are throwing roots into the water column to pull more nutrients. You could try root tabs.
I agree with what both Kyryah and Huff have said. Aerial roots can come lack of nurtrient in the substrate but I have had aerial roots happen on plants even using root tabs. It won't harm the plants although it can be a bit unsightly.
