Hi there,
If I were to "cycle" my tank with my live rock in it, could I kill the great stuff on the live rock (brittle stars, snails, crabs, sponge, Coraline, etc?)

I was originally thinking that I would try to cycle the tank with the die off from my purchased live rock but then realized that since I'm getting it from the Tampa Bay company there might not be enough die off to cycle it. Then I feared add ammonia to cycle after the fact. I don't want to kill off stuff I paid a bunch for!

You are going to have die off whether you are curing your Live Rock in your tank, or in a rubber container. Such is the life of rock that hasn't been cured or shipped. Some of the lifeforms will make it through the process and reproduce as time goes on... Its just part of the nature of a new tank.
