Will Barbs and Cichlids eat Anubias?

I was told that Cichlids and Barbs wouldn't eat Anubias, is this true? I have two very large Tinfoil Barbs and a Kenyii and bunch of other fish that are eating my plants. Anubias is pretty expensive around here and didn't want to buy it if was just going to be more fish food.

Thanks,

Nothing eats my anubias. I have snails that purposely go out of their way to get to the swords to eat them, but not the anubias.

I think I would shred some lettuce really fine and feed it to my fish if they were that hungry for plants.

I put a big piece of romaine lettuce in there lastnight, biggest piece I could find. Clipped it on with a clothespin and a bit of wire. They loved it, it was gone in about 2 minutes.

How often should I do this? Everything in the tank was eating it, tinfoils, convicts, RTBS, Kenyii cichlid, even the Khuli loach.

Thanks,

You can feed veggies every day, making sure that they clean it all up, cause it can pollute the water. Cucumber is also a favorite. And there is a fish flake food called spirulina that is vegetable matter.

Blanched zucchini is also taken with great relish (well, not the kind that you would buy in the grocery store). I have known goldies that will eat anything, but anubias and Java fern have been half-heartedly recommended for mbuna tanks because they have a better chance of surviving due to the fact that hardly any mbuna will snack on them.
