will he be a male dovii?

Hello all,
My neighbor down the street is raising a single juvenile dovii and is hoping for a male. He/she is shown below and approximately 3 inches long. There are some markings beginning to develop around the gills (dark spots) that may be signs of a male. Do females get these dark spots too (around the gills)?

then after you posted it up on the site, right click the image you want to post on this page, select properties.

near the middle it'll say address: http://www.pituretrail.com/blah blah blah. ur going to want to copy that whole address.

That doesn't look like a Dovii. Maybe Motaguense...or some derivitive thereof...

Wow, now that I take a closer look it does look like a Motaguense species. Have to break the news to my neighbor.
