Will I be overstocked?

I have a 20 gallon (long) tank and I wanted to get some otto's. Right now I have 1 Dwarf Gourami and 2 Pearl Gouramis, there are also 4 zebra's (I will be adding 2 more as soon as the babies are big enough) and also 3 cory cats. I know otto's like to be in a school of 6, so if I bought 6 otto's would that be too much for my tank to handle? Or would it be better to get 3 more cory's to make a school of 6.

Any advise would be helpful.

I would get more Cories. They really like being in big groups. But adding three ottos would also be okay.

What filtration do you have? What is your water change schedule? Both of these have a huge affect on your stocking ability, not just tank size and numbers. I would fill out the school of cories and add the amount of ottos you need for algae control, but closer to schooling numbers, 6 (cories and ottos aren't interchangeable since they don't do the same thing). What do you mean by zebras (as in: zebra what)?

Hi,

I think he means Zebra Danios.

Its always been suggested to me, for algae control, to use one Otto per 10 gallons of tank. So 2-3 would suit you fine, but get mroe corys, these guys cant get enough of each other, shoals of 5+ work best.
